Welcome to NoteMate – Notepad & Reminder, provided and maintained by Professor Apps Studio ("we," "us," or "our"). We are deeply committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our users.

This Privacy Policy explains how our Android mobile application collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. By installing and using NoteMate, you agree to the collection and handling of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information Collection & Local Storage

NoteMate operates primarily under an offline-first architecture:

• Notes & Reminders Content: All notes, titles, descriptions, to-do lists, tags, and reminder schedules you create are stored locally on your Android device.
• No Telemetry on Note Content: We do not transmit, access, sell, or analyze your personal note entries on our external servers. Your personal thoughts remain private to your device.

3. Device Permissions & How They Are Used

To provide its core productivity features, NoteMate may request the following permissions:

• Biometric Sensors (Fingerprint / Face Unlock): Used strictly on your device to lock and unlock private notes. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device’s secure hardware (Android BiometricPrompt) and is never accessible to NoteMate or transmitted over the internet.
• Notifications & Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used solely to trigger and alert you at the scheduled date and time for your designated reminders and tasks.
• Internet Access: Used for optional cloud backup synchronization and displaying non-intrusive advertisements in the free version.

4. Optional Cloud Backup & Synchronization

If you choose to enable the Cloud Backup feature in NoteMate Settings:

• Your notes and reminders are securely synced with your authorized Google Account so that you can restore them when migrating to a new phone.
• You retain complete control over your backup and can disconnect your account or clear cloud backups at any time.

5. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The free tier of NoteMate displays advertisements to support ongoing development:

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to deliver advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and process device-specific information (such as Google Advertising ID, device model, and approximate location) in compliance with Google Play Developer policies. • Ad-Free Pro Upgrade: NoteMate offers a one-time Pro upgrade option that permanently disables and removes all advertisements and tracking SDKs.

6. Data Retention, Control & Deletion

You have absolute ownership of your data:

• You can modify, archive, or permanently delete any note or reminder within the app at any time.
• You can use the "Delete All Notes" feature inside the Settings menu to wipe all local data instantly.
• Uninstalling NoteMate completely removes all locally cached notes and database records from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

NoteMate does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective measures.

8. Security Measures

We take data protection seriously. NoteMate utilizes native Android sandboxing and encryption mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access by other applications installed on your phone.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We encourage you to review this page periodically.
